THURSTON COUNTY, WA — Troopers responded to a semi-truck accident Monday morning on Interstate 5 near northeast Olympia, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The collision occurred on the northbound lanes of I-5 at milepost 114, near Brown Farm Road Northeast. It was first reported by Trooper John Dattilo at 10:51 a.m.
Officials indicated that the semi jackknifed on the roadway, leaving part of the northbound interstate blocked, but it’s unclear whether another vehicle was involved.
At the time of Trooper Dattilo’s report, a sand truck was en route to clear a small fuel spill. Motorists were warned that the roadway may be left slick after the scene clearance.
