KING COUNTY, WA — A vehicle fire Thursday afternoon shut down an Interstate 405 entrance ramp in northeast Kirkland, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The incident took place on the ramp from Northeast 124th Street to northbound I-405, in the city’s Totem Lake area. It was first reported by WSDOT just before 3:40 p.m.

It’s unclear whether the blaze was caused by a collision or mechanical problems, but local fire crews and Washington State Patrol troopers were on the scene at the time of the report.

Officials have not released any details about the involved party or confirmed any injuries, but footage captured at the site shows heavy smoke emitting from a passenger car.

Motorists were warned of delays impacting the area.
